During our stay in Curacao, we went to one of the most romantic looking restaurant of Willemstad… Restaurant Rozendaels! We had a lovely experience and romantic dinner here. This restaurant is filled with a nice caribbean vibe and lovely people. Are you reading along to get to know more?
This restaurant is a pleasant and open-air bistro. Rozendaels is located at Penstraat, just before the lovely Avila Beach Hotel (click here for my hotel review). They have a surprising combination of local and international cuisine. You would be enjoying your dinner in a relaxed and tropical setting.
The Dutch Antilles
They are opened on Sunday till Friday from 17:00 – 22:00. So they are closed on Saturday, this wasn’t very clear to us when we were standing in front of the restaurant.
During your visitation of this restaurant you kan also buy some nice art from the local artist Andre Nagtegaal. He paints typical Curacao scenes, in his work people are always the main focus. Andre also has a unique way of painting his figures.
Rozendaels caught my eye right away when we walked past it on a Saturday. Unfortunately they weren’t open then, but we made a reservation for Tuesday. When we walked in, this place looked so romantic with a lovely Caribbean vibe. A perfect place to enjoy Curacao to it’s fullest. They have a great menu with a lot to choose from, so there is something for everyone. From local cuisine to international dishes.
What did I order?
I started with the amazing Salmon Carpaccio, doesn’t it look good? I’m getting hungry by only seeing this picture.
For the main course I went for the Rozendaels Famous, a delicious marinated beef roast that was grilled on a open fire. It was served with an original Curaçaouse Pika and a fresh house made salad.
For desert I chose a very nice Lemon Pie from the Florida Keys, with vanilla ice cream and parchita sauce. It was amazing, but I was already pretty stuffed to I couldn’t eat it all.
My conclusion: A lovely restaurant that is perfect for a romantic dinner for two. They have a very nice staff, that are very helpful and thoughtful. One of the owners even told me everything about the paintings and the artist behind it. So much fun. It leaves a deeper memory from that evening.
